Bank of the Holy Spirit

The Bank of the Holy Spirit (Banco di Santo Spirito) was an Italian financial institution established in Rome in 1605 by Pope Paul V. It operated as a historic public bank within the Papal States until its eventual absorption into larger banking entities in the 20th century.
