Brabag, formally known as Braunkohlen-Benzin-Aktiengesellschaft, was a major German industrial corporation established in 1934 to produce synthetic fuel from lignite. The company played a significant role in the German war economy during World War II, operating multiple large-scale hydrogenation plants before its assets were largely dismantled or absorbed following the war.
