Escher Wyss & Cie. was a prominent Swiss industrial engineering firm that specialized in the production of turbines, ships, and heavy machinery. The company eventually merged with Brown, Boveri & Cie. in 1969 to form the engineering giant BBC, which later became part of ABB.
