Layar was a Dutch technology company known for developing an augmented reality browser for mobile devices that allowed users to view digital content overlaid on the real world. In 2014, the company was acquired by the Dutch augmented reality firm Blippar, which subsequently ceased operations of the Layar application in 2020.
