Mafac was a prominent French manufacturer of bicycle components, most notably recognized for its production of center-pull brakes throughout the mid-20th century. The company, based in Clermont-Ferrand, ceased operations in the 1980s as the cycling industry shifted towards newer standards and manufacturers.
